Roll
Bars, Style Bars, Exhaust Components and Accessories All of
Boss Frog roll bars have undergone destructive testing using
the SCCA guidelines, so you can be assured of what you are
buying. Other manufacturers sell kind-a-roll bars which look
good but have never been tested, so don't be fooled by claims
of "just as strong as...".

The
NEW Boss Frog Double Maxx
Maximum height and Maximum recline - just what you have been
asking for!
The
Boss Frog Maxx combines the best of both worlds the
height and strength of a real SCCA compliant rollbar, with
the maximum recline angle of non-compliant style bars. Now
you can truly recline the seat all the way back, and still
have the rollbar pass tech inspection at the track! In fact,
the additional recline room not only makes it more comfortable
for taller people to drive, but also lowers the overall height
of your helmet due to the additional recline angle. Why settle
for SCCA compliant OR full recline, when you can get BOTH
with a Boss Frog Maxx!
NOTE:
The Maxx design will NOT fit under a hardtop. The original
double hoop rollbar design is still available, and fits under
hardtops (and soft tops). Hardtop owners should specify the
Double Hoop Standard rollbars.
Boss
Frog made the very first (and still the only) Double Hoop
rollbar for the Mazda Miata. Others tried to copy the look,
but they have never been able to achieve the strength of the
Frog's patent pending design. The Boss Frog Double Maxx is
made of the highest quality 1-3/4" x 1/8" wall DOM
tubing, with heavy 7 gauge laser cut flat parts. Each rollbar
is manufactured in a precision welding fixture to assure the
absolute best fit in your car. They utilize TIG welding for
all tubing joints, to provide a higher strength but yet smaller
weld joint, and the highest quality finished appearance. Why
don't our competitors use TIG welding? Because it is slower
and more expensive to make.
The
Double Maxx is available in four finishes; Black powdercoat
- after manufacturing, the rollbars are shot-blasted to remove
any mill scale from the steel, then they go through a 7-step
cleaning process, then a 60% gloss powder is electrostatically
applied and baked at over 400 degrees to get a hard durable
finish. Polished Stainless - high quality 304 stainless tubing
and flat parts are hand polished to a shiny finish. Unfinished
- the color and finish of the rollbar is completely up to
you. NEW! Silver Powdercoat - a silver color with
a clearcoat finish, which gives a shiny gloss. Not as nice
as chrome or stainless, but lots cheaper.
The
secret to the Boss Frog Double Maxx's strength is the unique
saddle, which straddles the Miata's "hump". In rollover
testing per SCCA guidelines, the patent pending saddle design
helped to distribute the load to the floor of the car. The
vehicle frame bent in half from the pressure, but the rollbar
was completely intact. The test report is available here.

Boss
Frog makes the innovative ClearView Maxx double diagonal Single
Hoop rollbar, with spaced diagonals for an unobstructed view
through the rearview mirror. The Clearview Maxx is made
of the highest quality 1-3/4" x 1/8" wall DOM tubing,
with heavy 7 gauge laser cut flat parts. Each rollbar is manufactured
in a precision welding fixture to assure the absolute best

One key
to the Clearview Maxx's strength is the rear brace foot. The
foot is a formed triangle, which provides lateral support
to the vertical hoop brace. Other manufacturers weld a flat
plate on the brace tube, which gives no structural support
at all to the brace. In rollover testing per SCCA guidelines,
this rear brace foot helped support the vertical brace tube,
passing the testing with almost no deflection. The installation
instructions are also available.
One question
commonly asked is "How do I attach a harness"? We
at Boss Frog believe that the best way to attach a harness
is to wrap it directly around the rollbar. For this reason,
we do not offer harness "tabs", which are often
built too light to work when you really need them. The Boss
Frog rear vertical brace is within the SCCA rule of being
20 degrees from the centerline of the seat. This means that
harness straps can be wrapped directly around the vertical
brace, just below the diagonal brace.
